Nice post, nice to hear from you again, lovely pictures.

Very nice!

I'm an export from Japan, living in a Chicago suburb with my American husband and 2 daughters. I left Tokyo 17 years ago, lived in Germany, South Africa, and New York before settling down here.

I am originally from Tochigi, and I had a second home (a pensione I worked every summer and all the holidays) in the Japan Alps in Nagano. I am a mountain person trapped on an incredibly flat land at the moment. Your pictures are beautiful. They make me homesick...

I just started a blog. Please check it out if you are interested:

Best of luck on your everyday adventure!

Greetings, I just read your blog about walking along the Nakasendo road. You mentioned waterfalls and scenic ways. Is this road something non Japaneese speaking Americans could do? We are visiting Japan Tokyo/Kyoto for 2 weeks and my husband loves to take pictures. We are getting JRP so want to take advantage of it and get out of the main citys. From what I've read we will be there during nice weather 9/29 - 10/11. My friend and I were there 3 years ago and now we are bringing our husbands.
